Best Hearing Supplements: How to Judge a Formula

Quick answer

The best hearing supplements are the ones whose labels you can verify, since no formula has proof of better hearing. Look for printed amounts, a named maker, plain warnings and honest claims. Quietum Plus prints none of the amounts, so we cannot call it best. Use the checks below on any bottle before you shop.

How do you judge the best hearing supplements?

Judge a hearing supplement by what you can check, not by what it promises. Four things are checkable: the label, the evidence, the warnings and the seller.

No formula has been shown to restore hearing. The NIDCD says supplements advertised for tinnitus are not proven (NIDCD, Tinnitus).

Are there hearing supplements without side effects?

No hearing supplement is free of side effects for everyone. Any capsule with active ingredients can interact with medicines or affect certain conditions.

The NCCIH advises telling your clinicians about every supplement you use, since some interact with medicines (NCCIH, Using Dietary Supplements Wisely). A seller that promises zero side effects is making a claim no one can back.

Quietum Plus lists herbs and nutrients that have known cautions. Ashwagandha has liver injury reports (LiverTox, Ashwagandha), and piperine can raise the levels of some medicines. The bottle's warnings are not printed in the images we reviewed.

  • Tell your pharmacist about every supplement.
  • Stop and call a clinician if you feel unwell.
  • Report problems to the FDA and the seller.

Do ocean-derived or natural hearing supplements work better?

No, a source label does not make a supplement work better. "Ocean-derived", "plant-based" and "natural" describe origin, not proof or safety.

The 18 names on the Quietum Plus sales page are plants, vitamins, zinc and two amino acids. None is listed as sea-sourced. The sales page calls it "The 100% Natural Solution That Addresses Ear Health", but natural herbs can still interact with medicines. See the testing and quality page.

What "natural" can mean

  • Plant or food origin
  • A simpler label to read

What it does not mean

  • Proven to help hearing
  • Free of interactions

Where should you shop for hearing supplements?

Shop where the seller is named, the label is visible and the refund terms are written down. Where you shop matters less than what you can verify.

For Quietum Plus, order through the official sales page. Packs are $79, $69 or $49 a bottle. We found no authorized listing elsewhere, and look-alikes are a risk. Compare packs on the pricing page.

Check your hearing first. Sudden hearing loss in one ear needs same-day care (NIDCD, Sudden Deafness). Keep taking prescribed medicine, and follow your bottle's label.

01FAQ

Choosing a formula

What is the most important thing on a hearing supplement label?

The Supplement Facts panel. It should show serving size, servings per bottle and an amount for every ingredient. Without it you cannot compare doses, check upper limits or tell a real formula from a name list.

Do hearing supplements work for age-related hearing loss?

We found no trial in our sources showing that a supplement improves age-related hearing loss. A hearing exam can find the cause, and hearing aids are the tested aid for many people. Ask an audiologist before spending on capsules.

Is Quietum Plus the best hearing supplement for the price?

We cannot say so. At $49 a bottle in the 6-pack it is cheaper per bottle than the 2-pack, but the bottle prints no amounts, so value is unclear. The 60-day guarantee limits your risk, not the evidence gap.
