Quietum Plus and Your Liver: Ashwagandha Cases Explained
Quietum Plus and your liver is a fair question to raise with a doctor. The capsules list ashwagandha, which has been linked to liver injury in case reports, and the amount is not printed. No study has tested Quietum Plus on the liver. If you have liver disease or take liver-affecting medicine, ask first.

Can Quietum Plus affect your liver?
It might, but the capsules have not been tested for it. The concern comes from one listed ingredient, ashwagandha, not from a study of Quietum Plus.
LiverTox rates ashwagandha as a likely cause of clinically apparent liver injury (LiverTox, Ashwagandha). The NIH fact sheet reports five cases at 450 to 1,350 mg a day (NIH ODS, Ashwagandha). Those doses are from other products. The amount in Quietum Plus is not printed, so you cannot compare.
| Ingredient | What is known | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Ashwagandha | Liver injury case reports | Not tested in Quietum Plus |
| Epimedium | Possible liver toxicity of crude extracts | Lab and animal data |
| Amounts in the capsules | Not printed | Cannot be compared |
What do the ashwagandha liver cases look like?
LiverTox describes injury that is usually cholestatic or mixed, with jaundice and itching. Symptoms typically began 2 to 12 weeks after starting, and in the cases described the jaundice cleared completely (LiverTox, Ashwagandha).
The cause is unclear. LiverTox also warns that mislabeled or adulterated multi-ingredient supplements are always possible.
- Weeks 2-12
The usual start of symptoms in reported cases.
- Early signs
Itching, dark urine, pale stools or tiredness.
- Later signs
Yellow skin or eyes, called jaundice.
Do other Quietum Plus ingredients matter for the liver?
Epimedium is the other name to know. A review says crude epimedium extracts may be toxic to the liver, though most evidence comes from lab and animal work (Qian et al., Epimedium Review).
That is not proof about the capsules. It is a second reason to show the bottle to your doctor, who can tell you whether your liver tests or medicines raise the stakes.
Alcohol and other liver-affecting medicines are worth mentioning too. Keep taking prescribed medicine, and ask your doctor or pharmacist before you add anything. Our full cautions are on the side effects page.
Anyone with liver disease, anyone on medicine that affects the liver, and anyone who is pregnant or nursing.

01FAQ
Liver questions
Is ashwagandha bad for the liver?
Not for everyone, but reports link it to liver injury. NCCIH notes a number of cases tied to ashwagandha supplements and says long-term safety is not established (NCCIH, Ashwagandha). Quietum Plus does not print its ashwagandha amount, so ask your doctor.
Should I get liver tests before taking Quietum Plus?
Ask your doctor. Tests may make sense if you already have liver disease or take liver-affecting medicine. We cannot advise your case, and no test schedule comes with the product. Bring the bottle to the appointment.
How long do liver problems from supplements take to show?
In reported ashwagandha cases, symptoms typically began 2 to 12 weeks after starting (LiverTox, Ashwagandha). Tell your clinician about every supplement before any blood work, so the results can be read in context.
